We collect the following information when you register and use the Mycelium app:

  • Account Information: Your name and email address when you create an account.
  • Profile Information: Any details you choose to add to your public profile (e.g., country, interests).
  • Usage Data: Anonymous data on how you interact with the app (e.g., saved resources, clicked opportunities) to improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Mycelium platform.
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
  • Personalize your experience and recommend relevant climate opportunities.
  • Communicate with you regarding updates, moderation, or support.

3. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with trusted third-party service providers (sub-processors) necessary to run the app:

  • Railway + PostgreSQL: Used for secure user authentication and database hosting.
  • Hosting Providers: Infrastructure partners (like Railway/Vercel) to serve the app.
  • Payment Processors: If you make a donation, transactions are securely handled by Stripe or PayPal. We do not store your financial details.

4. Data Retention and Deletion Rights

You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. To request data deletion, please email us at hello@theglobalyouth.co from the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days.

5. Children's Privacy

Mycelium is designed for youth climate leaders. However, in compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), you must be at least 13 years old to use the platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a user under 13 has provided personal data, we will delete that account and data immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email.
